I WANT to like this app, but it frustrates me. I can't seem to figure out a way to look at JUST my immediate neighborhood at a click of a button, I don't care what is happening a few miles away most of the time - I really would like to filter by neighborhood. I'm seeing posts from last week but not newer posts, the posts I can find seem to not be in order at all. However, I'm definitely seeing tons of sponsored ads, every other post actually. I get it, it's free, but can we tone ads down a bit?

Update : they stopped showing posts for my neighborhood all together. Only shows adds, or posts for other places on different tabs. This app is horrible. The amount of sponsored ads is rediculous. The feed is never in newest posts despite having the setting to see newest first. So after scrolling through tons of ads and very old posts you give up on seeing what said recently. It's like Facebook but worse.

Hiding ads means nothing. On this app, the same ad appears every few posts. You have the option of hiding it, but you're still going to see the next one. And the next one. Etc. Even resetting the app doesn't matter, the ad will still show up in your feed. Some ads I DO NOT want to see. The result is avoiding the app. It's that the goal here, Nextdoor?

The algorithm is so bad. I click recent, and it shows things from weeks ago. It's as if no one has posted in days, but I know that they have. Update for developer: I regularly have posts keep showing up again and again that are 12 weeks old and irrelevant, even when I tell my timeline to show recent only. My husband told me to open Next Door to see a post someone posted 15 minutes ago. No matter what I did, it never showed up on my account, after clicking recent and checking on two devices Edited

It's very easy to post things you no longer need/want. The AI postings are a no-brainer. Communication between seller & customer is easy as & I feel safe using the app. No one has my contact info unless I give it to them. Although you could meet the customer in the parking lot of a police station, we had large pieces we no longer needed. We opted to give our address out, bring the items outside & load them onto their vehicles.
