This app definitely provides what it promises, however, it could do a better job in a couple of ways. 1. too much flashy glitz. really unnecessary when I only look at the screen for 30 seconds each workout. 2. no Android watch integration. maybe a countdown of the time left on your current segment and your overall workout?. 3. on the version I'm using there is no coach countdown. like maybe a vocal prompt each minute? just some thoughts. I've had. A good app but priorities are out of whack.

edited review: I don't know where this app went wrong, too many of the important controls are along the top bar, which seems to hide them under the notification bar. I literally cannot tap or use any of the buttons along the top of the screen. I can't log a workout because the button is blocked by the android UI (this is a fault of the app, not android). This is on a pixel 9 pro. the app does some good, but until it's usable again, don't bother with it.

This app actively stops you from starting a workout unless you give it location permission all the time. There is no option to turn it on only when the app is in use, or ask every time. There is no functional reason for this app to need to know my location when I am not actively using it. The older version of this app worked just fine without requiring location permissions. I can only assume the new owners of the Couch To 5k app are gathering and selling location data.

Can't believe they charge for this app. It's so glitchy. -App will start workouts over seemingly randomly. Sometimes deletes the data. Sometimes saves it. So disheartening. -Voice doesn't always play, so you might miss instructions to walk or run. From previous review: It's disturbing how the company wants your data! It turned my first and last name into my username and I had to enter a home address to create an account to change my username. Edited

I've been using this app (off and on) for years now. I originally purchased the full app for .99 cents and it was worth all 99 pennies. It's simple to use, especially with a music app - the music will lower slightly during run/walk/warm up/cool down prompts and then return. You don't have to keep it open in order for it to track you (just run it in the background) and the coach characters are great. My absolute favorite character is Johnny the Zombie. He's both encouraging and hilarious. A+ app! Edited
